I don't think it's possible - unfortunately. I think for that to happen every single person in the world would have to abandon any preconcieved notions they have concerning the world and the people in it. I don't think that people are willing to open their minds and souls to accept people/things different from their own reality...it's a shame really.

This is an impossibly huge question, but there are inevitably small pockets of harmony side by side with the always-shoved down-our-throats-by the-media areas of dischord.
Common purpose springs to mind, but this diminshes as any group gets bigger. Human diversity of purpose and opinion and the imperative to develop and diversify naturally leads to change and thus disharmony. Can even a close knit small family boast real harmony - or just tolerance to benefit the common purpose?
It's human nature and what got us this far on this poor little planet is now tearing our world apart.

Yup. It's easy. Well it's easy after we've read a mass of books. How do we avoid conflict? Well we just ignore the core issues. As days go on we get rid of all of the small issues that were holding the 'big' issues up and so they fall. Look at England. Hundreds of years ago it was taken over by the Vikings, then the French, then, then,,,,,,,, Point being the ideas that divide it back then are of no importance. Why? Because there is nothing making the values/points relevant any more.

I believe that it isn't the diversity that causes disharmony, but rather the economic differences. It seems that Capitalism promotes the welfare of the Rich and penalizes the poor.
If we could use the Income Tax Laws to make a more level playing field, we would get a more Harmonic Society.

I wish it were possible, but history suggests it is not. Even after the horrors of Nazi Germany, and a world that promised "Never Again!", look how quickly we allowed massacres in Cambodia under Pol Pot, hatred and slaughter in all the countries of the former Yugoslavia, genocide in Rwanda..... those are just a few.

Still, decent people will keep on trying.

Yes ,I think it is possible. Diversity makes us step up to the plate and learn to appreciate all people. At least I think it should. This would be such an un cool place without diversity.

It is happening already all over the world.
When there is harmony within me I can start the ripple effect from around me. Loving the harmony around us is the beginning of spreading it.It's a life's challenge.

No. There is no evidence to indicate that diverse people can live in harmony.

Multiculturalism has not worked in Yugoslavia, Rwanda, Rhodesia, or the US.

As long as there are stupid and violent people, there will never be a complete coexistence possible.
