This sounds like an error on the ISP's side (internet service provider). From what you wrote it appears that you connect directly into your cable modem from your computer. If you do not it is also possible that your router is causing this and may need replaced. When you are dropping your connection do you get any pop-up bubbles stating that your local area connection is disconnected and then reconnected? here is a breif list of possible causes:

1. bad network cord (maybe loose and getting bumped)
2. Bad router (if one is being used)
3. Bad cable lines
4. Bad cable modem
5. Bad network card in your computer.
6. Other/software issues.

You may want to check if you have internet connection.

If u do, follow the following steps.

1. Click Tools> Internet options
2. Click Delete Cookies
3. Click Delete Files
4. Click Settings> Move the slider a bit to the right to provide bigger space for temp files to store
5. Click OK

The same thing happened to me 3 days ago. It happens if you don't have internet connection.

Don't worry, turn off your PC. Turn off the modem & router (if you use) for five minutes. Then plug them in & turn on. Turn on your PC & check now.

Check whether all lines are perfectly connected.

Call your ISP & tell about the problem.

Do you have an Internet service provider? If so do you have some sort of Internet security or firewall that blocks or allows Internet traffic and should be reconfigured ?
