Define excessive. My third was called Tsunami because of the uterine gymnastics.
By the way, the stitches had nothing to do with the baby's movement. They were to make sure that her cervix doesn't open passed 2 cm before 40 weeks. This is a physiological thing with her body.

My guess is that it is quite normal. Those little folks sometimes like to move around in there. They'll kick at anything that invades their space, including hands on the belly, and the bladder. (Never get between a pregant woman and the bathroom). Moving around is great. The fetus is getting stronger and larger. This sounds like a very good sign. Right now, it's bouncing around in the belly. They get harder to keep up with once they come out.
Ok. Don't believe me. I'm not an MD. Ask the obstetrician too. After they chuckle a little, they'll tell you its fine. (You are worried about something they hope for) I don't know if the cervix stitching is affected by the movement of the baby.

Babies move sooooo much at this stage. There's no such thing as "excessive". They play hard, sleep hard, play hard, sleep hard. Wait til she gets that knee under her ribs that just won't move, and her kidney becomes a soccer ball. This is what babies do. As someone said earlier, you worry when they DON'T move as much.
As for the cervical circlage, it's done because the cervix isn't as strong as they'd like it to be. The stitch reinforces it and life goes on just fine. If she were leaking fluid, then they'd put her on complete bedrest and have her lie on her right side for several months (and trust me...it bites). But the fact that they haven't done that means things are fine and sit back and enjoy the next 4 months. For you they'll go quickly. For her, they'll be an eternity. Time to practice your hand, foot and scalp massage techniques as well as honing up on your laundry and cooking skills. She'll appreciate them more than you know.

Absolutely normal. If the doctors were concerned they'd put her on complete bedrest. The baby has lots of room to move and stretch out. Later on the baby will be cramped in there. Some babies are super active, while others are kinda mello. Only be concerned if she does NOT feel the baby. If you two are concerned a lot, then make sure your wife's activities are limited until after baby....but like I said the doctors would say bedrest if it was necessary, so just modify things.

Fetal movement is normal, but still ANY time you feel uncomfortable or worried, you should not hesitate to pick up the phone and call your doctor, day or night. Most offices have somebody on call 24 hrs... So just to ease your mind, call the doctor and ask, and maybe go in for a check up, just to make sure everything is okay... then your wife can rest easy.

If there is movement tell her not to be concerned. I would only be concerned if there was no movement at all for more than a couple of hours,or if she starts having bleeding or cramping. To help put her mind at ease call her doctor and ask to come in to check the heartbeat. They also have little machines so you can listen to the heartbeat at home, check out a baby store.

It is TOTALLY normal to have all kinds of movement at this stage! This is the beginning of the last trimester, and a period of rapid growth. Now your baby is more developed and is "trying out" the new movements of their "newfound limbs". Also, he or she is stretching and turning and growing...constantly! So, RELAX!! It's okay! Stop Worrying!! It's far more healthy for ya'll to be emotionally stable rather than worrying stress into your lives. Babies can smell stress a mile away...it can cause far more difficulty than you know. So try & relax...it'll be fine and both of you, by the way, are going to make GREAT parents, too. Congratulations!

Has she had a recent ultrasound done? The doctor would be able to tell her more. I am sure things are ok,but if she hasnt had an ultrasound done recently, I would call the doc asap to get one done... maybe the baby has hyperactivity at a very early stage
(yikes!!). my stepson, almost 18 has been hyper-active all of his life and I wonder if he was as hyper before being born too..(it runs on his bio-mom's side, along with other health issues.
I hope everything is fine with your wife and baby..

Just asked my doctor this yesterday. There is no reason to worry if your baby is extremely active. That just means that they are alive and well and will continue to be active once the baby is born.
She said when I count fetal kicks there can be up to ten in an hour, when I actually did it, I counted 25 in 30 minutes. I'm right there with ya!
Hope she gets some sleep!

They can kick quite a lot but it may just be typical for this baby
Make sure she is not eating too much sugar as this will make baby kick lots
A healthy baby is an active baby so dont worry
Get lots of rest
Report uterine cramping
Report Vaginal bleeding
Report Reduced fetal movements
