Most of the people who hate myspace have children and are worried for thier safety.
Children are gullable and too trusting and have the potential of getting hurt by those individuals who are misleading and guiding to those young in nature. If it were a perfect world and everyone just wanted to say "HI" that would be great! But there are predators out there wishing to RAPE our young children! Myspace makes it easy for this to happen.
That's why some people HATE myspace.

My son is active on MySpace, however, he does not talk to strangers and strangers cannot contact him. That is, what I believe to be, the real danger or MySpace. It's when teens aren't smart enough not to communicate with strangers and just talk with their local friends.
Also, I think it is very important for parents to monitor what their children our doing on MySpace as with anything they do online. In my opinion, no child should have their own computer in their bedrooms. Our computer is in the main living area. It's not a matter of not trusting our children. Even the kids who are careful can fall victim to a smooth-talker online. Actually, many adults do, as well.
To the site's credit, It appears that MySpace is actively trying to make a real effort to restrict adults from communicating with teens through the site. Bravo! MySpace!

I realize that all of these articles are from a religious site, but that really shouldn't keep anyone from reading the truth. Many other similar reports have been on network news programs that are not religious in nature.

Because people use the site to post minute details of their life validate their existance when in reality, no on cares!!!!
Of course there are the few who do not abuse the power to talk about themselves, which is in human nature to do (look it up in a psychology textbook).
