As Air Guitars are for those who do not have the instrument. It's those who can lip synch but can not sing.

It actually takes a great deal of skill and technique to perfect the air guitar. Julliard now offers courses in it. Some people spend a lifetime trying to succeed only to have their dreams squashed at such competitions.
