Like an Ubermensch?

I think not. It would only give the false hope to others that they can achieve the same state. Even Nietzsche recognized Jesus as a "superman," but look at the people who try to be like him.

Ultimately the outlook of Nietzsche's Overman is too self-interested. I can't begin to imagine the terror he would present to the world if he were to emerge and read Ayn Rand. The world is not ready for it.

Yes, he may be a fictional, real or deified...through out history people have looked for someone to save them from themselves....

Well if you mean that we need someone to save us from burning buildings and rescue us from drowning then I'd say yes.

no! we don't need Superman. We have to be the superman ourselves. nobody is better to save you but yourself.

in my opinion, everybody can be the superman. it just depends if you want to be the rescuer or be the one rescued.

it's just like asking if we believe in heaven or hell. it depends how you want to live your life, if you made lots of bad things to others or you're always sulking then that's hell, vice versa.
