The weather could be better. But there are so many different things to do, whether indoors or out, it sort of makes up for the lousy summers. Besides, to get out of town and do something different or see totally different landscapes, it's just a short drive "up the road". It's a huge city, so it has it's good and bad. It all depends on what a person wants to focus on.

It is better to live in a community outside of Houston such as Pearland, Friendswood, Sugar Land, Katy. The smaller towns have better schools, less crime, plenty of kid's activities. Houston is great for museums, clubs, plays, sports, etc. Go for a few hours but don't live there.

I am a transplant here(Dallas) but have lived here almost 20 years. I did a stint on the East Coast which I truly loved but when your a Texan you will always be a Texan. True it is hot and humid but you will find the most giving, caring genuine people in this town that would give you the shirts off of there back. Like someone else said you can find everything you need here.

Yucko. Nasty, dirty city. Ugly, brown beaches.

It's also the fattest city in the country. Not somewhere to live if you want to lose weight!
