I'm feeding my res with commercial food pellets that have vitamin c and my res is not showing any symptoms that he is sick aside from having a chalky stool. I'm just worried that there is something wrong with it.

I'd certainly question the diet, and perhaps change it,,,plus offer the natural substances that your RED would eat in the wild, as you can obtain samplings of them.

It may only be in its processing of the C addition, and perhaps, again, if C is an issue for its health,,, attempt offering other,,, maybe less concentrated,,, natural forms.

nothing to worry... just dont over feed them... and give them variety in their food... also, dont over-dose them with vitamin c diet... i own 2 res.

Maybe you should give it algea and water plants.IThings it would eat in the wild.I had one and I researched what they ate.
