I have to think the oil in Iraq had more to do with the war than a terrorist threat. After all, all sensible, informed people know that Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11...but we also know that Bush and all his oil industry buddies are getting rich now...

well, I certainly don,t. I do believe that oil was one of the primary reasons, but perhaps not the most important one. as early as 1999, when dumbya was being touted for candidacy, he told his biographer that Reagan had advised him that if he ever became president, to pick a country, that would be a sure win. he chose iraq because it was one of his daddy's biggest mistakes. when hb1 first installed saddam , then gave him billions of dollars and weapons. (Where do you think iraq got all those weapons they used in the Iraq-Iran war?) so, major reasons were to get his ratings up, get the country behind him, get control of the oil, and fatten lots of pockets with war contracts.
of course, most of the biggest and fattest contracts went to a company called halliburton, formerly chaired by tricky dicky cheney.
one could go on and on, and many books have been written on the subject, and many more wll, in years to come.

I think people that are hung up on the WMD issue paid no attention to any of Bush's speechs, if they saw them at all. Bush layed out several reasons for the war, only one of which was WMDs, which we did find some, but not a lot.

I think the war was a brilliant move because it put so many terrorists in one place, over there, and not here hiding in some hotel room looking for the next target.

BTW, I am still waiting for my share of Iraqi oil. Did you get ur share? It seems liberals are so fixated on the oil issue, but I dont know of any oil gains the USA has received from this war, do you?

Saddam was a jerk and go what he deserved...almost. He really deserves to die a horrible death, but I'll settle for any kind of death for him.

As for whiners like urself. Either lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.

History states that we never go to war unless there's something in it for us. Oil, of course. It's only a plus for the large oil companies here in the states. The higher the price for a barrel of oil, the more they can charge us at the pumps.

WMD? The only WMD's they've found are left over from the Iran/Iraq conflict. Weren't we the ones who gave weapons or bomb making supplies to Iran at that time? Where's Ollie North when you need him?

Weapons of Mass Destruction Found
By: proudamerican · Section: Diaries

In a report released today, it states that over 500 WMD's, the reason for going to war in Iraq, have been found. No word yet from the liberal media. CNN doesn't make so much of an Effort as to talk about it. However one of their top headlines does talk about Idol winner Taylor Hicks, becoming number one on the charts. When no WMDs were reported to have been found, it was their top headline. However, when they have been found there is not so much as a peep from them.

The Duelfer report has concluded that Iraq had dismantled it's WMD program. Any weapons found now will be only relics from the 1980s.

Canam, you're caught in outfield someplace, so allow me enlighten you just a little. Prior to the invasion, there have been inspectors on a role. Some will argue that the activity they have been doing used to be taking too lengthy, or no longer generating outcome quick ample. When you might have a number of the unfastened global agreeing to this style of securing of a rogue country like Iraq, it is first-class to paintings with them than in opposition to them. Certainly there have been underhanded offers performed by way of many countries with the previous dictatorship. The rush for warfare used to be so much generally influenced by way of a tremendous organization favoring safeguard and maintaining the economic climate going. 911 can have been the spark, and the next outcry with out digesting all of the similar data prompted a warfare cry regardless of the penalties or end. Thus, parties of the 1960's are repeated close to precisely the identical within the 2000's. A taxpayer burden calculated practically 10% of the country wide debt is the influence of the ones hasty movements taken. Since no one needs to stand the buldging country wide debt, and without doubt firms shun earnings taxes greater than contributors do, we're gliding in a unusual economic clash wherein no longer one flesh presser turns out fascinated with discussing the debtload the U.S. now bears. ninety four% of U.S. debt is being purchases by way of different countries, when you consider that Americans do not earn ample on jobs to shop for a work of it. Trying to comfortable a country with economic issues is totally elaborate realizing that the country is international owned and stimulated. The above scenerio has taken location whilst the population used to be sound asleep. What the economists and planners search now's that the U.S. buyers maintain drinking, alternatively than exhibit any curiosity in gaining great enployment with comfortable jobs. The fascination with international assaults and chances of guns so that it will purpose incalcuable destruction is encouraging the will for troop buildup wherein this can also be performed extra efficaciously via using technological manner for choosing and destroying folks that might desire to damage all of the U.S. holds expensive. Call it success that no identical assaults have occurred, and indubitably gift management can be regarded upon kindly within the historical past books. Seems that there are plans and layout being performed wherein so much aren't aware of, and while you think that a country like Saudi Arabia who owns a well chew of U.S. because of it is dependence on their oil, has ties to subversive corporations...it confuses the limitation as to why Iraq. The proliferation of capitalism in the course of the sector has located the U.S. in a elaborate function of being a policeman approximately to head bankrupt. It might be to the capabilities of every body had the U.S. targeted extra at the fiscal malaise inside that does not get households intact or furnish for the specifications because it will have to. Perhaps Obama sensed all this, whilst others simply joined in on a perpetual witch hunt. Having the troops at dwelling might have bigger served catastrophes like Katrina. Money wasted on international endeavors are being borne by way of you, me, and generations to come back.
