It seems like someone claims to have found the Ark every 5-10 years, it seems to have started back in the 1920s when a Russian military officer on an expedition in the middle east (present day Turkey, I believe) brought back reports of seeing an 'ark' like wooden structure near the top of a mountain in the area around Mt Ararat. Since then, there has been numerous expeditions (supported by countries like Russia, England, the US, and more), and while there has been numerous other reports of an Ark like object, and even some wood supposedly 'broken off' the ark, there has never been any substantial proof the Ark still exists.

Its like the people who claim the Ark of the Covenant is supposedly in a small temple in eastern Africa, and that the cup of Christ (Holy Grail) is reputed to be in either a Church in Italy, France, or England. There always seems to be rumours, stories, tales and ideas about these things, but as of yet no one seems to be able to prove beyond a doubt where the resting place of many Christian relics are.

I seriously doubt a wooden structure would still be around with all that snow on top(mount Ararat) of it after 4000 years.
