I do this because I genuinely like to be nice and be helpful and I like the points but have no idea what they are good for in the grand scheme. However, it really doesn't matter if people take what I offer, no one is obligated simply because the advice is offered, to use the advice. When you give to life, life gives to you, and often from a place other than the recipient of the "gift". It is all a lesson, your giving is an exercise in charity, their receiving is a lesson in gratitude. Two very important lessons in every-ones life. Peace Out

I think sometimes people are helped by what I write. I don't really think most people are doing what I suggest. I know I've asked questions and had some helpful answers given to me, so the potential is there to help others. I don't do this for points. Mostly I do it for my own amusement.

In response to the person who said writing answers validates our existence....Huh? I have lots of people in my real life to talk to, and when they respond to me, I'm pretty dang sure I exist. Come on, who is really THAT lame?

I do yahoo answers to help people and not for points. I feel some people need your advice on things they don't know and i feel helping them is great. if they think it's good enough they might use what we suggest and sometimes they just wanna try something new and listen to your advice. Most of the time they might do what we write. mainly yahoo answers is to help others and ask questions.

some times I feel like I'm helping people. Except when it's a really stupid question and I'm thinking "what the f**k are they thinking". I really don't know if people do what I suggest.

THE ABSOLUTE GAMBIT--some of my answers have been taken on as solutions--the folks have e'd me back to let me know that they have tried my suggestions and that they worked out.....there are other questions though that are just completely and utterly inane and deserve cut and sharp responses---other times there is an opportunity to let loose and have some fun--from time to time there will be someone that will simply throw me in the floor with their humor or viewpoint----so it runs the gambit--there are ten million stories within the Y_A-----------------

I think that for most people it simply validates their existence. The thought that someone is possibly listening to and taking their advice brings them happiness.
