I have read many opinions from both sides of the Israel-palistinian conflict. It seems that many are just based on emotions and not on actual understanding of the conflict. Many see the palistineans as the underdog whos land was taken so they side with them. Others see the Israel's as the just nation since they don't attack without instigation and are a democratic country. Based on these initial emotions people form staunch opinions about who is right. If the average person spent even 1 hour doing actuall historical research using non-biased sources they would understand that the conflict is not that simple either way. Though truthfully through actual research of my own I have come to side with the Israels. This is because the actual historical facts seem to end up on the side of Israel. Mabye I'm wrong and mabye I'm right, thats not my point. What i am asking is why can't people just do some research before forming a political opinion. Is it really that difficult?

Personally, after doing some research by myself and reading about yours, I don't understand how you end up on the side of Israel. But that is your opinion. It is not so much where you end rather than how you got there that makes me wonder.

I don't live in the USA and my opinion is that depending on the region of the world you get your information from, it will greatly shape your opinion. We can even see trend from countries to countries.

One thing for sure. To league with them because they have through so much persecution is not bringing one single tear to me. If they had been through so many and had learnt from it, they would understand there will never ever be a good reason to do the same to other.

I think some people just go by what they hear on the news and papers before they find out the both sides of an issue. This has been a conflict that has been going on for 3000 years and not something that just happen in the last 50 years. I do not know what the solution is but I wish there could be peace in the area and both can live together. This might be reality as they have never been at peace with each other.

People dont want to research, they want to jump on the latest bandwagon. I've done some research and gotten so many different versions depending on who wrote the story.

But I side with Israel because of biblical history, and Islamic history. Historically there were no people called palestinians until recently, and the word Palestine and Syria have Greek origins, not Arab. Palestine is the word used for the land, not the people, so who really are these people that call themselves Palestinians? They are nothing more than Arab Muslims. Was the land always theirs? Of course not. Long ago it belonged to the jews, and they were run off of it. Now their back, so the question arises: whos land is it really? The original owners or the ones that lived there for thousands of years afterwards?

The Jews took back only a small part of the land they lost thousands of years ago, so I tend to side with them. Jews have seen so much persecution over the years, that I am glad to see them have their own land again. As for the muslims, they are a worldwide cancer anyways. They need a healthy dose of chemo.

You're right. Acurate information on the Arab-Israeli Conflict is easy to find for those who care.

I think, it's just, when Jews are involved people tend to go nuts.
(For example: The UN spends 1/3 of its time and money bashing Israel, while people in Africa suffer slavery and starvation. WHY?)

The world has always been obsessed with "the eternal people". Some love them; Some hate them. I think this has more to do with someone's feelings towards God than with the Jews. See, you can't attack God, but you CAN attack the folks who told the world about Him.

For many, yes. And sometimes historical research can actually get in the way with a problem such as the Palestinian conflict--some people are so rooted in a particular historical fact that their position becomes calcified and they are unable to react to the here and now.

@ Anvil yours is a common Israeli answer to a question you don't love ie through insulting the consumer who requested that sensible question . this must be an internet site for questions and solutions no longer one to throw dust because you could't face the reality. Now to respond to your sturdy question > There are truly 2 strategies to positioned an end to this conflict and that is through communique. Israel has to sit down with Hamas and concede a range of of land they occupy, elevate the blockade of Gaza, positioned the finished od the West monetary agency lower than Palestinian administration and get rid of all its protection stress from that section and a minimum of commence the go back of Palestinians pushed out through the Zionists. A bitter pill to swallow yet when Israel particularly needs peace then they ought to swallow it. Hamas on the different hand might want to ought to guarantee to stop all hostilities once and for each and each and every of the alternative is to get the U. S. and the UN in touch to stress Israel to regulate to circumstances suited to the down trodden Palestinians as for my area Israel does no longer pick peace until eventually it has occupied the finished of Palestine

It's crazy. These people have lived side by side for thousands of years with respect for each other. Now it's all about greed! On both sides. We need to realize Muslims across the world hate us because they see us as taking sides. Not fair and balanced.
Israel and Palestine needs to put the past in the past and move forward for their children.

well you have done "lots of research" and admit that you could be right or wrong, so why waste the time researching if someone is going to come to same end of picking a side and maybe being right or maybe being wrong.
though i do agree, people need to look into things more than they often do, and on everything, not just this issue.

It's part of the new approach to issues. Nobody wants to be bothered with the facts anymore. We've become a "post-modern" world, where facts don't really matter. Instead, we're taught to connect with our feelings, and make decisions based upon that.

This approach to reality will lead to disaster.
