I'd say Gerard Deprardieu, although Jean Rochefort is pretty big there too I believe. I also agree with the above poster; Johnny is huge there. Tautou has only become famous in the past handful of years, and although I'm not from France I don't know if she'd be one of the biggest ones; just one of the better known to Americans.
