My boyfriend and I have been arguing over this for awhile. If someone purposely kills another who had done absolutely nothing wrong to them, just an innocent person, do they deserve to die?

Two ways to look at this: Eye for an Eye or Retributive punishment. If person A kills another person, then kill Person A in the same manner (Or let the weak willed do a lethal injection)

OR

Or allow the person to die of natural causes, but lock them in prison till they die and clothe and feed them til' they die. Don't forget the tv, the books, the playing cards and interaction with other inmates.

Hmm which one?

How about this?

Seal them in a 7-ft.wide by 3-ft. long by 3-ft. tall concrete box and feed them via a 6-inch hole in the middle on one of the 3 ft. sides? When they eventually die, either bury the concrete box, or incinerate it and sweep ot the ashes for the next visitor.

No. They might deserve to go to prison for a long time (maybe even for life) but we don't have the right to take away life for the same reason the murderer doesn't.

God gives life. We do not have the right to take it away if we are not defending ourselves.

Depends on the circumstances. If it is Murder 1, then absolutely they do. Murder 2, eh....I'm still inclined to say yes, but there are occasional circumstances that I would consider otherwise. As for manslaughter, no.

Im not sure... I dont think they should die because thats hypocracy, but keeping them in jail for life takes up our tax $$ and lots of it! so maybe, under certain curcumstances, they should be put to death, and under others... like if it was a one time thing... then they should be let out of jail. It all depends on how they did it and why.

I prefer to strip them of their flesh and keep them alive with medical professionals so that each day you can pour salt over their body and then let birds peck at their eyes while you smash each toe with a small hammer.

I am a firm believer in yes! No I don't believe that killers can be rehabilitated, the person that got killed can't change anything. Let them fry!

They deserve death and nothing short of it and not 20 years later.

Deserve? Perhaps.

But I don't think that any other human deserves to kill them.

Yep. I don't want to know about it, though. You see, *I* have a conscience and refuse to put myself in the position of having to kill someone...
