Ann nailed it--as usual.
Someone just has to get her to come out of her shell and tell us what she really thinks about things.

Leave it to good ol' simplistic Annie, I am a person that Annie would label as liberal, but I would rather kill violent criminals, I don't want to oppress any class let alone the middle one, I definitely don't want to undermine national security, if anything I want to enhance national security beyond the current hit and miss strategy of the current administration, and the only aid I'd like to give terrorists is a mop to clean up the blood from their bleeding corpses. I am absolutely for abortion 100% because I am realistic and realise that with the way people are, they are gonna have sex, and sometimes they're gonna have kids, and I would way rather that these kids end up in some biohazard wastebasket before they are even brought into this world, rather than they make it out into real life into some crack family where they are a strain on things like healthcare, and our criminal justice systems, you have to admit that if a child is unwanted, that child is most likely not gonna do too well in life, foster homes don't exacly make the leaders of America, nor does some trash can in some alley, that's not to say that there are'nt foster kids out there that do great. But if you force parents to have an unwanted child, then that child is not going to do well. It's not because I don't care about women, it's just that I do'nt want another underloved, under cared for, poor, angry kid out there that could be sticking me up at the ATM tomorrow morning. If you ask me, the planet is full, and we really don't need more mouths to feed right now. I'm sure some people think that this is immoral and disgusting, well guess what, this is reality if you have'nt noticed and that's the way things are sometimes, immoral and disgusting. What I don't get is how so called "conservatives" like this Anne Coulter person will push for things like cutting welfare, unemployment, and child tax credits, as well as rationalising useless wars when our country is involved in a war on terrorism, yet are totally unphased by the prospect of millions of unwanted children being born to poor, uneducated young parents. Should'nt you conservatives be for this whole abortion thing? See folks, thats why conservatives just don't make any sense, they have no idea what they want. It's like they're really clueless parents that don't want they're kids to eat candy, but it's okay to do coke and heroin children. Maybe one of these days, when these people start to realise that there is a whole lot of work to do in this country and the least of our problems are if Tim and Joe are gettin married and the town crackhead slut has had her third abortion. I'll tell you what, if so called conservatives want abortion banned so bad, then stop being hipocrites like you people always are and start adopting all the unwanted children in America, when yer ready to do that, than maybe jus maybe people will start taking you kooks seriously, but until then, real Americans have real work to do.

hahaha... I don't know what's funnier... the fact that she said it or the fact that you guys believe it...
you guys call me a "liberal" all the time and abortion is FAR from my most important issue... I am pro-choice, but frankly, I would give up abortion for a national health care proposal that covered everyone... just one for one... that easy... that's how much I care about that issue...
I'm sure others care more about it... but hey, you don't have to believe the same things to be a part of the party... there are even some that don't believe in abortion at all... SHOCK!.... hahaha
but I guess you guys would rather sit around and dream that democrats are all evil in every way... call me when you want to come back to reality... hahaha
I usually think that conservatives are basically as smart as liberals... were all on the same level (I may joke around some, but overall I do)... just with different beliefs... but then I see a post like this and it really makes me wonder how you all can be so naive about the other party... it sure doesn't help you guys any... hahaha

She makes some good points, but like others have said, it's hard to take her seriously.
She is a person that is fed up with the way far-left liberals think (and she has good reason to be). However, she goes overboard on the analogies which takes away from some of the good points in her argument. It's hard to see the party lines in black & white, so to describe "all" liberals in even a short paragraph is impossible.
I do love the analogy with the casualties of the war versus the million plus babies that never got a chance...it's a stake that drives to the heart of what "some" liberals are all about.
As for the term "liberal" meaning free in Latin...
I challenge that liberals are always on the march to find the next battle. The quality of life is far better now than it ever was in any country in the history of the world. I find many arguments coming from that side of the aisle selfish. Regarding abortion, I'm a republican, and I feel there are only a small number of circumstances that justify having one (such as being a rape victim). To defend the "because I want to" or "it's my body" arguments are not valid except in the sense of being selfish.
If the Republican party went away and liberals were granted every demand they ever made, anyone who ever called themself a liberal would regret it. The true nature of "every person for themselves" would be exposed. You would be able to buy pot at the gas station around the corner. You would find yourself funding more Mexicans out of your taxpaying pocket. The very benefit of being "free" in every aspect of life would be eroded by chaos. Others' newfound freedoms would trespass on your core beliefs and violate the very same privacy you fought to protect.
It wouldn't take long before liberals found themselves breaking up into 3 or more political parties taking us right back to where we started...

Ann Coulter is rarely correct. All these things could be applied to Conservatives as well. I challenge her assumption that 1.3 million fetuses are aborted each year. I'd like to see some proof of that that doesn't come from the radical right. I don't think that anyone "celebrates abortion". It's a necessary reality for some women in bad situations.

Andrea Yates - drowned her 5 children. Don't you think if she
didn't have so many babies in a row, some of them would still
be alive? Or was drowning a better death?
Abortion is just the removal of a formed cluster of cells.
To live on the planet on for 20 yrs & suddenly have your life &
all you've accomplished snuffed out, is a rip-off.
As for Coulter - she's not to be taken seriously.
If you really cared about womens rights, you would allow each
woman to decide according to her own beliefs & be very
disturbed by a group of men who think they can make women
obey their religious beliefs.

Wow, City Girl's a nurse and she thinks babies are just clumps of cells? May I ask what are we, fully grown humans, but slightly more complex "clumps of cells"? Using that logic, then no human rights anywhere should be protected.
Generally speaking, Ann Coulter's right. I do know some liberals who do care about women and are against abortion but they are in the minority. Unfortunately for them, they're labeled guilty by association. Maybe they should associate with a different crowd.

I don't think that they are comparing one to the other, that one may be more important than the other! I don't think that ANYONE is considering those lives given in way is in one way more important than those given away to abortion. It is more a matter of freedom to choose, and until there is a draft, those who decide to enlist have a freedom to do so, no one is MAKING them serve, just as no one is MAKING anyone get an abortion, or making them NOT get one!!!! Your freedom to enlist is just as your freedom to stop a pregnancy. Where would we be if every 14 yr old who got pregnant had thier baby??? Every 10 YEAR OLD??? Every woman who was raped??? Who gives a crap about what the muslims think??? Let them believe what they want, IN THIER COUNTRY!!!
Liberals care about women enought o give them the choice!!!! And in doing so how does that undermine NATIONAL SECURITY other than to those countries that think we are infedels and attack us for it???
WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON ANYWAY????

Of course not. Coulter is just another far right pundit who says disingenuous things in attempt to lessen the truth. There are different forms of liberalism, so her claim is a generalization, but more importantly it's a straw man argument because in actuality pro-abortionists consider it the right of the woman to decide what to do with her own body, not some malicious scheme. That's the hallmark of liberalism--the protection of freedom, afterall the word 'liberal' itself derives from the Latin meaning free.

I think Ann is right it is easily the biggest issue in the Democratic party despite the fact that it is a dangerous issue for them to take because there are people on both sides in both parties and they tend to isolate those in there own party who are pro life.
I think that any pamphlet you get from any democratic candidate will always have highlighted as one of there biggest issues.
It is probably there only stance they do have do you know the position of the democratic party on any other issue that isn't anti bush or anti republican?
