You would think so.

Everytime you ask somebody deep in thought "So, what are you thinking?" they invariably respond "Nothing."

For myself, I have only pondered nothing on route to something. It is a way of clearing your mind, meditating and possibly relieving your tensions. It is not too effective. The thoughts strt poring in the moment you let them. It is actually very strenuous to think of nothing.

As for being and doing nothing. I value breathing. I have tried staring in a mirror and in a candle flame, and sitting at the bottom of a pool holding my breath, but eventually; I would blank out or come to the surface as the case may be. I can almost stop my heart if I want to. The point is to control yourself. If you can't control yourself, what can you control?

I wouldn't recommend doing anything I have talked about on your own. You need someone there with you in case you go too far and either stop your heart or drown your self.

Personally, this is what I believe Rodin's "Thinker" was pondering "NOTHING."

No... that would be impossible. You may not realize this, but you posed your question in such a way that anyone with half a brain would reach my conclusion. If you're thinking of doing nothing, it's impossible to be thinking nothing, for you are thinking something. You see, you've created a paradox. Sorry, I really wish that I could help, but things need to be a little more cut and dry if you want an honest answer.

Quite an abstract question. The doing and "being" nothing part generally isn't too hard. Just lay there.

It's impossible to "think of nothing". Even when you're not thinking of anything, you're still THINKING your not thinking anything. It's like imagining nothing. What do you come up with? A black void? A white void? That's something. To actually think or imagine nothing requires your brain to stop functioning... then you're dead.

yes, however, I have come to the conclusion that the concept of nothing is false and that there is no such thing as nothing. The very act of doing nothing is in itself something.

True singular nothing is impossible to comprehend, because as soon as you think about it, it becomes something, therefore it is no longer nothing, it is something.

Are you trying to be existential?
EVERYONE would like to be in that state, it's called CHILDHOOD. We'd all like to stay there, but unfortunatley, we can't! We ALL have to grow up, and that frame of mind isn't one of the perks of being an adult!
