Does the fact that your picture looks like Kyle have anything to do with your disdain for Cartman? Cartman is the best part of the show. They could easily get rid of Kyle & Stan, & do the whole show with Cartman, Kenny, & some supporting characters. Stan & Kyle annoy me because they are often too preachy & whiny. However, I have to admit, just as Meathead was for Archie Bunker, these guys often end up being the factor that allows Cartman to truly shine. Without Cartman, I probably wouldn't even watch South Park.

Have you ever seen the movie "Blazing Saddles?" It's just a parody or making fun of how *****-d up prejudice can be. Eric Cartman is friggen HILARIOUS for his era as a character. Watch Blazing Saddles, Child, Please, then you will understand.
PS. Blazing Saddles was directed by a JEW (Mel Brooks, one of the greatest prejudice barrier breakers of the century, because he saw irony in it ALL!) Also black people think that movie was stereotypical, but funny as hell, because you cannot lie about your own shortcomings in your race, even though you may not like it. Look it up on IMDB.COM after you watch it!

Well, it's like a double-sided sword. You see yourself in things because you choose to. He's not really that bad, we just see things that we want to. So, we make ourselves feel better by imagining that someone is worse off than we are.
But, he is a made up character. So, to use an old saying, "Sometimes a banana is just a banana." Try not to read into things.

You're supposed to want to beat him up (except when you're laughing your butt off). That's the function of his character on the show. He's a jerk! If you didn't want to beat him up and laugh hysterically when bad things happen to him, then I'd be worried about you.

You should feel pity for him, because he's a sad ignorant bigoted little child. I don't know what's making his world turn, but I hate to see him as an adult if he stays on his current path.

I think he's hilarious. It's not physically possible for you to beat him up. He's a fictional cartoon character.
