when i was young i read in one of the magazines that there was a child who was very bad at academics and particularly at maths n science. all his teachers had given up hope n his mother was very disappointed to see that. but later on that same child proved his worth to the world as well s to all those who thought him as a shallow-brained. He excelled in the field of maths n science n due to his services the world is progressing today. The child is none but Sir Isaac Newton.
Now As far s I remember this success story is of Sir Isaac Newton. But I am afraid if I m relating this story to a wrong person. I searched for Newton’s life history on Internet but did not find any such info. Plz guide me. and tell me is this the story of Newton or some other scientist? I don’t have the mag with me anymore. Since I read this story when I was 9 yrs old. and i was really moved by it. I juz need to know the scientist’s name. Waiting for ur response. Thanking in anticipation

It is Albert Einstein. He could do the longest calculation in his head with his IQ of 195, but he needed a nurse to make sure he wore two socks, but if he were to divide 10 by 2 to get 5, he would have to do that easy calculation on paper in order to help his grandchild with his homework.

Another one is Thomas Edison. He had over 40,000 patents in his lifetime, yet his teachers said he was "addled," and unteachable, and his mother took him out of school and he was home schooled. He was a genius, but he was not book smart.

This is a sort of ugly-duckling story that gets passed around alot to keep kids optimistic about learning math and science. Usually, the story is badly exagerated or simply made-up. Surely, einstien had trouble early on, and in fact, he was never a great mathematician, but to say that he or Newton were total mathematical clutzes in thier childhoods would be a vast overstatement.

The story u have told is very generic in the sense there is no specific reference to any incidents.

And the fun is that most of the famous scientists who were famous in the field of Maths and Physics were very poor on these subjects during thier school days(just like me),so the story cannot be told is exactly about whom without giving some specific info regarding their place of birth or date of birth or somethin like tat

I suspect this was Albert Einstein. Newton was a bit of a flake, but he always excelled at academics, even from a young age.

I belive it was Albert Einstien. He was horrible at math, but later in life, excelled in physics. He is considered the greatest mind of the 20th century.

This has probably happened a few times in history. For example, Einstien failed mathematics, and went on changing the way we think of science.

Einstein is the right answer, his teachers believed that he might be retarded because he always questioned what they told him.
