1986, Quarter Final, France 4:3 Penalty Kicks
1998, Final, France 3-0
2006...with the amazing French defense, and Ribery, Vieira, Trezeguet, Zidane, that will be hard for Brazil. It seems that they have a hard time playing France usually anyway. I'd say France will win, very tight.
Final Germany-France
Les Bleus!

In my opinion French team is boring. Thierry Henry is by himself up top. Zidane is not the old Zidane. Now if Brazil plays quick (llike they did against Japan and score early) this is an easy road for Brazil. However, France's defence first, be patient and look for the whole, attack with few players mentality is also a handicap for Brazil. They may get frustrated, and with a good game from Barthez can carry on with a one goal victory. Still Brazil favorites and France is a long shot. All French fans will say that s what they said in 1998. However in 1998 France was simply lucky. they attacked three times and scored three times. Game dominance was Brazil and if that game was played 10 times over France would never win again.

Screw the French, 1998 Brazil had a bad day this time they are ready for anything the French bring. Zidane....washed up, Henry's favorite position is offside and Barthez....whatever, he should find a new hobby like being the new spokes person for Mr. Clean. The Brazilians are 100 times more creative and will attack so much the French are going to want to go home before the game even starts. 1998 France v. Brazil 3-0...2006 France v Brazil 0-3...other way around baby!

This is an adject insult to both Brazil and France! Do you really think that the Brazillians would be bribed and let their entire country down? [ Would you??!!] Don't forget that most of them earn an monthly income that we have to work for one whole year, so money wasn't that aim when they flew to Europe to participate in the World Cup.

As for France, they had never lost one match in the 1998 tournament. They were the host, galvanized and cheered by their fellow countrymen in every match so they had full support all along. They enjoyed a psychological advantage which the other teams didn't.

Here is a list of the World Cup host countries who won:

1930 Uruguay
1934 Italy
1966 England
1974 Germany
1978 Argentine
1998 France

Considering the weak defense of the Brazillians, France has every chance to win this Saturday

Yes, of course. You know Brazil will give everything to seek revenge. So what France have to do is to defend them succesfully with 5 defenders at the back. Try to pass more accurately so that Thierry Henry & CO. make some runs to threat the Brazil goal. Do the same the start of both the halfs. Conserve the momentum and pace & start attacking constantly and imply offside trap 20 mins before the intervals. Do the same in the second half again. If France get the first goal then do not defend as Arsenal did in the Champions League Final. Try to keep Brazilians under pressure. If they do this I'm sure France is gonna repeat the history!!

Of course France has a chance. Unless they don't even show up. Which won't happen......

They played each other in the finals back in '98, and France won so both teams will be UP for this game.

FRANCE does have a strong defense, but Brazil's offense is better. I expect Brazil to win 2 - 1 or possibly 1 - 0.

I personally believe that the French can beat Brazil. France may have eek-ed their way through the group stages, a little like Italy and England, but they have showed they can be a perfect match for Brazil. Just look at the 1998 World Cup final -- France all the way. The French team surely played their best football against Spain, and they showed great charisma in coming back from a goal down. I'd relish the thought of England France semi-final, and even though the English are still sluggish -- it's going to be their year. Germany - England final; how grand would it be with the English winning 4-2 like their 1966 counterparts. Okay Zidane, they stage is set...go get that winner for me against the Brazilians. They are not the greatest like everyone wants them to be! Remember, they dress themselves just like your everyday person and after-all, they are human. Ciao Brazil!

Historically Brazil has not had a great defense and that's the way they play, for them it doesn't really matter if they get scored on because they now they have the power to score back, and they have a great goalie in Dida he's one of the best in the world and I don't think France has any chance against Brazil, be aware that Brazil has not played as good as they can play because they know that they don't need to, they will only play like they know when they play a good team I hope that team is France so that we can see a great game

I personally think France mite haf a chance of beatin' Brazil n' get their advance to face either Eng or Por in semi...despite the heinous performance by the Frenchmen durin' the early stage of WC, they did brilliantly well against Spain as both France's offense n' defense were sheer impeccable...in fact, they've won Brazil once in 1998 so there's alwiz a possibility that they cud stand a chance even against the intimidatin' Brazilian colossus~ Yeah, it's true that Brazil's gonna gif it all to seek vengeance but do not disregard the fact that Zidane's gonna hurl himself in the match too before he ends his career after WC...Henry's a swift striker n' moz of his shots're fatal...he cud've scored a few goals against Spain if those passes were nt offside (7-8 times consecutively -_-")...he's obviously jinxed that nite...Ribery has also proved to be a competent midfielder alongside with Makelele n' Vieira...n' at the back of the team there'll be Thuram n' Sagnol, both experienced defender to fend off attacks frm Adriano or even the great Ronaldo...overall, France is a pretty well balanced team wif the right players fer all positions at the field...one shall not belittle France based on the speculation that Brazil's a 7 times champion in the WC...many'd already done it once in the previous match between Spain n' France n' their initial assumption haf proved em wrong...Nonetheless, it's reli hard to say which team's gonna emerge triumph in the match but France's reli got a chance...

France has no chance against Brazil. Brazil has only played good enough to win. They always get better as the tournament goes on. Brazil will be the next world champions

France has a chance. Brazil's defense is very bad or is getting better but it still is bad. If France had a attack equal to the brazilians attack then France will definetly win. I'm pretty sure Frances defense is better than the brazilians, thats for sure, but can France's defense defeat the all mighty Attack? we will find out. Chances- France 40%, Brazil 60%.
