I began dancing when I was three and went on pointe when I was 11. Our studio had a rule that 11 was the minimum age you could go up on pointe (due to muscle development, etc.). You also had to have a good background of ballet technique. Good luck this fall!

I danced ballet for 12 years and I was on pointe for 4 of those years. It's nothing like it. It's so much fun to see the audience amazed at what you can do when you get on your toes.

I love to dance! I dance ballet (my favorite!) Jazz (second favorite) and Tap (eh, it is okay) I have been dancing ballet for 9 years, Jazz for 7, and Tap for 6. I would like to do point but I don't want to mess up my feet. My one friend broke her toe on point!

I was in ballet and jazz when I was younger and I don't remember having to ware pointed shoes in ballet. Jazz we sometimes did.
