Spaceballs was the best movie that John Candy was in. All Mel Brooks movies are hilarious but this is probably the best. John Candy played Barf and his best line is "I'm a mog: half man, half dog. I'm my own best friend!"
John Candy's best role was Uncle Buck. His best line in this movie is when he was talking to the school principal who had a big mole on her face "Take this quarter, go downtown, and have a rat gnaw that thing off."

Cool Runnings is one of my favourite movies of all time. He was perfect in the role, and the movie was just great all around. There were some great one-liners, some inspirational moments and great acting.
Also, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is a classic as well, if only for seeing John dressed up as the devil in the car. Everytime the movie is on, I nearly fall out of my chair at that part.

Planes Trains And Automobiles. The one thing we never really got to see John do was drama. Sure, he was in JFK but his role was small and it still smacked of his trademark humor. The closest we ever came was the scene in PT&A when he confessed the true state of his life to Steve Martin. That scene on the train platform gets me EVERY single time.
Of all the celebrities who have passed away, John Candy's effected me the most. I think it was because I knew how amazingly talented he was but we never got to fully realize it. Mass audiences never got to see SCTV, the DVDs are mostly ignored by the people not in the know. Most of his films are forgettable and THAT is sad.
I think, had he lived, he'd've pulled a Tom Hanks and found a way to insert himself into more serious work to keep his career alive.
I miss ya, John.

Spaceballs.
He was a mog - half man and half dog - named Barf (formally Barfolomew). He was his own best friend.
The movie was a hilarious send up of sci-fi movies - especially for its time.
FYI - I actually have a licensed video of this movie autographed by the last actor in the ending named credits (who, coincidentally, would later play a landmark role in a future popular sci-fi series).
