I dont have any kids, but I plan on keeping the tradition and doing the same....of course,I am 23...and by the time I have kids..they will prob be wanting $20.'s...lol

The going rate for a tooth for my children, was 1.00.....When I was a kid I got anywhere from a dime to a quarter. Price of enamel has really sky rocked!

It depends on the age, I believe in at least a dollar, however if you feel your kid will save it go ahead and give them a twenty. Expecially if they are younger you can practice good saving habits early on. My daughter bought a Swing set all by her self by the age of 5 because she wanted and saved all her money.

My sister and I always got $1.00, but one time the tooth fairy accidently left my little brother $20.00. lol He's the youngest and sometimes he would on purpose get left as much as $7.00.
I think $1.00 is a good amount.
