I've often wondered if other people exist when I don't see them or when I'm not talking to them on the phone or etc. If people exist beyond what I can see. So to answer your question, we don't know if life is a "dream" or a simulation.

we dont all we can do is make the best of each day and help others see the same way if everyone helps one person a day the world would be a much better place

We don't....i feel that what we may know as reality may be someone elses imagination.if that made any sence.and how do we know that we are really not walking upside down if your perception is upside down before our brain and eyes makes it right side up.i don't know..glad im not alone in this thought.

we dont. theres no way to tell what reality is, outside of what you percieve it to be. what you make of reality then beceomes your truth and therefore there is no acutla reality as many different people exsiting in the same plane see it differently
