you need a good set of pencils from b to 6b, the higher the number, the softer it is for shades and tones. I recommend this drawing book to get back into the practice of drawing figures "The Natural Way to Draw" by Nicolaides and "A guide to drawing" to learn about the basic principles of drawing. Also, get a small sketch book to always walk with so you can draw where ever you go.
you'll also need a staedtler eraser and charcoal pencils (if you want to try that medium). start off by just using pencil. after you familiarize yourself and get more comfortable drawing and shading, start with colored pencils.

A sharp pencil and a sketch book. If you want to go all out then get some conte crayons, charcoal and a varity of soft and hard pencils, and a good drawing pen. If you are good at drawing then you don't need an eraser.

To start drawing you simply need a No.2 pencil, a white gum eraser and white paper. As you practice your drawing, slowly add more materials to your supply list; such as, a charcoal pencil, various grades of pencils, drawing paper, etc. - Good luck!

Depends on required effect. I'd suggest HB or 2B pencil (no eraser), on cartridge paper block, to get your eye in, with lots of quick free sketches, and some longer tonal studies. And carry small pocket-book ("Moleskin" if you can get them) and self-inked drawing pen for quick live sketches at bus-stop, Drs. rooms etc. Then I suggest spoil yourself with big sketches using charcoal and kneadable eraser, especially if you can get a live model, or can hang clothes on a tailor's dummy to capture folds etc. It helps get drawings "alive", not merely architectural. Try copying/altering catalogue illlustrations, using them as a base for different angles and clothing, drawing on your knowledge of form, and imagination. Take "pictures" in the streets, in your mind, and draw them later. Avoid fussiness - first get the big shape, and gesture. A pen helps for that because you can't rub out.

pencil and paper.
basically, you dont need fancy things to be a good artist. just draw. and draw whatever you want to. dont try to make it look good. first, make it. then you can rub it a bit, put some things right and like that. the more you practise, the better you become. i've tried that, and my drawing's a hell lot better now. good luck!

you need a sketch pad or the single sheets good quality pencils a white eraser not pink colored pencils, markers and oil pastels. if you want you can get a drafting table to make it easier to draw and a ruler for those straight lines.

Pencil, sketch book, and perseverance. Always carry your sketch book with you. There will always be something or some one to draw.
