Allow?
Do you want to pass a law? Cause that would be a very very bad idea.
It comes down to humans get bored, and we need an escape. Even if all of the athletes and movie stars give all their money to the hungry, it would barely make a dent.
Money isn't the biggest obstacle, it's politics. Most people are starving because of corrupt governments not the lack of money. Most of the time the money we give just lines the pockets of the elite.

That's a good question, but remember that athletes and movie stars are not the majority of the richest people. They are just the most visible. We like to watch athletes and movie stars at work. We generally don't watch millionaire CEO's on tv. And it is true that we allow people to have that money. We are all part of an agreement that they should have that money.

It's all about supply & demand.
There's a limited supply of particularly talented people, & we ordinary folk are willing to pay to see them perform.
Just remember though, loads of those athletes & movies stars freely donate their time & money to help the less fortunate, & they give a whole lot more than you or I can afford.

For the Same reason Angelina Jolie and Brad PItt can have government appointed security in Africa while they have their baby and claim to be supporting poor and starving people. Does anyone realize how much money was spent on security for the baby they delivered in Africa. They could have fed thousands.
