depends on whether or not you know the female. if it's a woman you dont know and it's a rather embarassing flaw, tissue stuck to shoe, zipper down etc, a hushed excuse me miss might be appropriate. Many woman are not comfortable being confronted by strangers with this but for those of us who are, i would appreciate the honesty. With a female you know, something simple like Hey did you know that your button is undone or whatever is fine too, keep in mind when in mixed company discretion is your best freind.

I had an old guy bend or lean over the counter as I was serving him. I was a little taken back by it at first... but he said "I need to tell you something". So I leaned in and he whispered.."I think your zipper is afraid of heights"....lol, I laughed (as I pulled it up), he laughed and we never spoke of it again. But if he hadn't told me, How many others would have seen and never said a word?

Tell her right away! Pull her to the side and tell her in a low voice about her "problem". There's no way to completely avoid her embarrassment but by not hesitating you save her the agony of thinking that she went so long embarrassing herself.

Very simply. How about "Excuse me miss, don't look now, but I noticed your skirt needs adjustment. You might want to go to the ladies room and fix it"

If it's something she can fix then you should just say excuse me your skirt is up in the back. If it's something she can't fix like a run in her stockings, just leave it alone. It'll just make her crazy.

If you want to keep your relationship in good standing, LET SOMEONE ELSE TELL HER. But if it's just a casual relationship, like a coworker, tell her tactfully and out of hearing range of others. (especially other women)

When in a conversation, say something like, "can I tell you something, are you aware that your shirt has a small hole in it"?

depending on how drastic the situation is, you might want to pull her off to the side and whisper it to her.
