just starting watch the reruns of and on...but the themes song is word and i always want to know what he is singing about

HERE'S WHAT I FOUND ON IT:
the theme song was written especially for the show by songwriters and the creators. Looking on the internet, I found the following which suggests what tossed salad and scrambled eggs means. Its been fun watching the different theories regarding the meaning of "Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs" pop up over the last few years. I don't think "Hamlet" has been as closely scrutinized or more divergently interpreted.
Here is what I (and the songwriters and other two creators of the show) thought it meant when we decided on it.
Hey baby I hear the blues a'callin'
play on words: He's got the blues and referencing that he takes phone calls
Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs
mixed up people who call in
And maybe I seem a bit confused
Well, maybe, but I got you pegged
the core of Frasier's character: He is a nutcase himself much of the time, but can analyze the problems of others
But I don't know what to do with those

except these damn callers
They're callin' again
they're calling again

I love Frazier. He can help anyone solve their problems but he himself is a hopeless case.
The blues he hears a calling == the phone calls from sad, pathetic people.
Tossed salads and scrambled eggs == the problems these people have.
A bit confused == is him, a failure in love and romance, that's how he sees himself.
