No chance, if it were even gonna be remotely close to hitting the moon, our "if it bleeds it leads" media would be on this 24-7 right up until it misses the moon, then they would jump all over the scientists that predicted that it wouldn't hit the moon about how inaccurate the prediction wasn't. If that sounded like it was all jumbled up it was meant to be ( a poke at the useless media )

Although XP14 will pass the Earth at around one lunar distance, that does not mean it will be anywhere near the moon.

That Earth "miss" distance is simply a linear measure. With space you have to think 3-dimensionally, and there are thousands of paths along which the asteroid could pass us at lunar distance and still not be anywhere near the moon.

But wouldn't it be great if it did hit the moon. If it hit on the side we see, we would get a new crater to look at. If it hit on the dark portion of a crescent moon, we would see a fantastic light show. Shrapnel from the explosion would no doubt rain down on Earth in an awesome display of meteors.

I hope not, the FIFA world cup will probably be interrupted by all the commotion and we won't be able to see France win it!
