yes. Very improbable, but possible.
it takes a very intense situation, a near death experience, or a sudden moment of realization for some reason that hits them hard, at the very depths of their souls, but it can happen

I want to start this answer with a little humor...
How many psychologists does it take to change a light bulb?
Just one... But the light bulbs really gotta want to change.
Here is a thought on this question... Define "Change".
We are different people to other people. What I mean is that how you are with your friend at work, may not be the same as you are with the person that lives with you. Is that change?
More definition... We are not the same with one co-worker as we are with another co-worker. Is this change?
As a whole, there is action and reaction. To change the personality of another, you must be the first to change.

I believe there are theories that state that personalities vary along certain axis such that a person may conciously chose to alter certain behavioral patters but they are not going to completely change. Others beleive that personality is a combination of nature and nurture. So that fifty percent of waht makes a person personality is genetic and the other is how these genetic predispositions are molded by experience. So in essence we are who we are because of our ancestors and what happens to us along the road of life. we can chose to change certain habits and thought patterns but unless you have multiple personality syndrome since your experiences are part of who you are it is difficult to completely change.

Depends on if they had something catastrophic happen in their life. Maybe a major catalyst has pushed them in a new direction.
Or could be signs of a split personality.

Yes, but only if something HUGE and horrible happens in their life.
