Lets say conservatively, the person gets a $2 cup of coffee before work and works 5 days a week for 12 months. That's $480 for that year. At age 75 that coffee would have costed that person $33,078.65 at 8% interest. To put it another way, that single $2 cup of coffee costed $137.83 at age 85.

I knew Starbucks was expensive, but they sure do have good coffee.

My cousin just bought a game box for $300, he is 12 years old. By the time he is 65 at 8% interest, it will have costed him $17,724.76 and I guarentee he won't still have the game box.

A lot of money....but 20 year olds now would not even think to save that money! They would just save it maybe until the age of 21 the blow it on booze or a spring break or something wreckless!

*HINT* If you buy a cup of regular Joe at Starbucks .... save the reciept and on that same day you can get a refill for free (sometimes) or pay only like 50 cents! That can save a little money if you are really addicted! :-)

Can I protest your open sentence, not your math, which is so right, It's just that I thought, that I could run down to Starbucks and buy me a 20 year old. Also cursing the fact, that I have never been in there store.
However I am fine now, and more than happy, I have missed the joy of Starbucks

it appears you have answered your own question! Sounds like the coffee is at least cheaper than a cigarette addiction!
