A pumpkin is a type of squash, and there are some other squash that size, so that would be better. Plus, I like watermelon, and I wouldn't want to waste one by carving it!

well here in Ohio its not easy to find a watermelon in October, so i'd have to say i'd go with the squash first and try that, not to mention squash is cheaper!

definite, you ought to use a pumpkin carving kit. i've got seen them cut back in a million/2 and used as punch bowls. Har de har har. Squash b/c it would be easier to scoop out the middle to make it hollow. Plus i would want to save the watermellon for eating!
