Infinity is a concept most of us either don't try to understand or one we barely understand. We know what it is, but we don't understand how or why.
What are the dimensions of the universe (or cosmos) and what is beyond?
I have grappled with this question since I was a small child. I am no closer to understanding or answering it than I was then.
Oh, once you have explained infinity to me, then please explain how it could possibly exist in any sort of rational form without God.

The place we call 'space' is very much 'infinite'? To understand it can't be done. Logically and or by dictionary terms it means boundless, endless or very great. Their are many ways to describe the word infinite because the word holds a question of uncertainty. So people try to answer the best they can because really, deep down we don't know the true answer. And all things not labled, catargorized or can easily be explained is scary and is alien to us. The unkown is a scary place for most. Whats after infinite? How can something possibly go on and on with no end. I was once told "Their are new things that are being discovered every day because we as humans where meant to discover them, but then there are things that are so big and boundless that are mind can't even comprehend and thats because the answer lies with god and we will never know. You will drive your self crazy trying to understand the true concept of infinite. But remember this, the most intelligent scientists in the world can only answer your question with a text book answer with a scientific veiw point and still not answer your question completly.

To answer your second question. God can't be explained you have to discover him for your self and only then will you be able to discribe him. He is so unique that one word can't possibly sum him up. You would need the worlds dictionarys and pick out all the best words that are good and then create another million before you even get close. The true answer to your question lies with you in your heart. Good luck and god bless.

Infinity is something which has just been given too much importance through media and all that. It is spreading in today's world like a rumour without knowing the cause behind.
Universe is infinite, it is true. Since, universe is considered to be dimensional, we need to understand that concept. If we ignore, all other dimensions, and consider 3 dimensions i.e. Length, Breath And Height which mainly constitute the macroscopic universe. We can extend the three figures to any extent...it can range from 0.00000000000000000....1 till 10^infinity hence the universe become infinite. But, when we ross dimensions, which is manually not possible. Only relativity and some other concepts can help you doing this. Then, you can cross the infinity. Then, the next parralel universe may be infinite in the same way. So, it is like the circle has an edge which is the way out!

Earth is Round (or Oval) and not flat. It is hard to comprehend this, unless you look at earth from the outer space OR, actually walk continuously and reach the same place again!

It was very difficult for the man in ancient times to accept that earth is round. So to the ancient man, earth was infinite in every direction !

Similarly, it would be very hard to explain what universe really is like.

If we sent a rocket in a striaght line, would it come back to its place of origin after a very long time (although it was always travelling straight), because the space is curved in the same fashion as earth is ? And its just that we cannot realise or understand this yet?

If we could describe or understand the infinity of the universe, we would have perhaps understood Time Travel, The beginnings of the Universe, and a Lot More !

Infinity is forever, but it is true most people can't grasp the idea since our lives are based on time lines, birth/death, day start/day end and so on.
The dimentions of the universe are huge, but it is circular/oval shaped with parts jutting out at times much like solar flares compared to the over all shape of the sun. What is beyond can only be guessed at, but if you look at string theory and quantium physics it suggests not only mutlipul universes but numbers them at about 14. Each universe (if the theory is correct) is like a sheet of paper with the other dimentions beside it (more then likly in a circular shape). This theory has helped explain black holes, when the sheets touch each other, and the postive energy of the universes creates negative energy where they made contact (black holes) .
It can exsist without God, but "God" or the "designer" made it.
They have done tests on particles that react differently when viewed by people (two of the same particles reacting differently based on if they are being watched and not being watched). There have even been tests to show humans can control the movement of the particles by simply thinking of an area of the test field. So an interesting idea is there are actually two universes, one being watch and one not being watched, to see the outcome, even if it takes millions of years (or an infinitly long time).
Hope this helps a bit.

Listen carefully. The answer lies in this Symbol. O
You will never fully comprehend it until the moment you die.
No God, No exciting endings, everyone you know and love will be lost. I hate to seem like a downer but that's the awful truth.
The only thing that matters to you, or anyone is right now. The moment in time that has randomly been choosen to be the present.
I would love to believe in God or a God, Or even a devil. But there is no rational evidence that leads me to even humor that idea.

We Exist but think about it, What else could there be, this is all that could ever exist.

If there is a god.... well listen to Some George Carlin, He has some pretty funny ideas.

Infinity and our universe is everything there ever was, is now, or ever will be. Come to think of it, that kinda fits the biblical description of God.

It's just a mathematical convention. Nothing exists in infinite quantities, so it's not worth thing about in a concrete manner.

This is the song that never ends.
It just goes on and on again.
Some people started singing it, not knowing what it was,
and they'll continue singing it forever just because:
