Sound waves vibrate a magneticly charged plate, which induces an electrical current, and thus a signal. The signal is prjected as a radio wave in all directions and is picked up by a cell tower, which transmits the signal to a satallite, which bounces the signal back down to another tower, which broadcasts the signal to the recipient's cell phone, which turns the electrical signal back into vibrations.
