I just downloaded Limewire and I'm just wondering... because a lot of my friends say that it lags your computer too much...

Yes Limewire as a program does require a lot of overhead and will slow you computer down when running and download large files. As for it being a virus program, not really. The problem with the program is in the fact that you open a port on your computer and then can download anything. If you want to spread the lastest virus, put it on a peer to peer network and call the file name the lastest hit movie. I have been using the program for years with no problem, but you have to be safe. Make sure you have a good virus scan and update it reagulary and use it to sacn all the files before you play them. And stay away from the free or crack games most contain some form of virus or backdoor program.

Please remove Limewire from your computer as soon as possible. It is one big virus ready to unload and crash your computer. My husband and I put it on our home PC and within 4 months, it was done for. We couldn't even turn it on. It may be fine at first but over time and with use, it will slowly kill your computer.

All services in the history of free online music messes up your computer for the most part. The p2p system is very flawed. I use bit torent. Although it is slower it works very well and there is torrents for everything from music to microsoft office.

YEA!!! It puts massive amounts of spyware and viruses on ur PC. Get rid of it if u value ur PC.

Yup...thats why I dont run any other applications while i run it.
Windows Media Player does the same thing....
