Little Rock, Arkansas. It is the most beautiful place here, and coming along. Unfortunately we have race issues that divide the town. Overall, the state is a redneck haven with very impoverished and uneducated people.
Little Rock has a great climate, the Arkansas river runs through down town...it is really breathtaking. But, Little Rock believes in mediocracy in all respects. The schools are terrible unless you are wealthy and can afford private schools or your child is highly intelligent and in an AP program.

I come from New Zealand.
At the moment I'm living in Aguascalientes, Mexico (high desert).
Last year I was living in Surgut, Siberia (-58C in December 2005)
I've lived in Port Douglas, Far North Queensland, Australia (tropical climate, very humid, prone to cyclones).
I've loved all of these places for different reasons in spite of the difficulties of each climate, & the limitations of the smaller towns or cities.
I think being happy where you live is all about the friends you make & your own head space.

I live in Mn, and it's great.
Ice fishing, snowboarding, x-country skiing, snowmobiling in the winter.
Waterskiing, boating, jetskiis, swiming, fishing in the summer.
Where I live you could drop me off anywhere and I could find a lake in 5 minutes of drive time.
My nephew lives in Nebraska and says they have one lake like 2 hours away.

I live in this region of Los Angeles called Beverly Hills, don't know if you've heard of it. It's warm and sunny and I love my sheltered community and short walk to amazing restaurants, interesting people, and of course shops. I love where I live!
