No, Johnny Cash never served time in ANY prison... he did a few days in county lockup here and there, but never went to prison except to perform.
Merle Haggard, on the other hand, DID do some time and was in the audience when Cash played at San Quentin.

While under the influence in 1965, Cash drove a tractor into a lake behind his Nashville house and accidentally started a forest fire. The government fined Cash $85,000.00 for this bizarre incident. In the same year, he was arrested in Texas with amphetamines in his guitar case. He got off easy: a suspended jail sentence and a $1,000 fine.

No he did not, he did a concert at Folsom Prison and I believe that is when rumors that he had done time started i believe he also did a concert at san quentin

I do not believe Johnny ever "served" time for his drug or alcohol problems. To my knowledge there was never a scandel of his involvement in any other type of illegal activities.

No, he did not serve any time. However, he did meet Merle Haggard at a concert and gave Merle the jump start on his musical career.

no he did not. He was arrested once but only held in a jail overnight, never any prison time.
