Outsourcing is not 100% bad. It is natural.

If a country can't compete and technology is available to do the work better and cheaper somewhere else, why should your government prevent you from taking advantage of that???

National borders are a bunch of crap and should be a relic of the 20th century. The world should be without borders of any kind.

this is actually very detailed economics.

yes, outsourced labor is a threat to american jobs, HOWEVER, by outsourcing the labor so cheaply, products that we buy cost a WHOLE lot less. without outsourcing, it wouldn't matter if the wages stayed the same because the costs of production would go up and everything you want to buy would cost more. either way, with the situation we are in now with the war, there are no easy answers.

the American economy is shifting to a service economy. In any market, services are the first things to go. The only people who can afford them are the rich.

i am not saying outsourcing is good. we have enough natural resources here in the united states to never trade with another country again. but developing this country into a service economy will help divide the classes for those who have an interest in doing so.

the american middle class is dissapearing.

Yes, outsourced labor is a threat to American jobs. The government is not protecting American jobs because the government chooses to listen to lobbyists and the sound of money being dropped into their campaign piggy bank by big business. Big business needs cheap labor in order to turn a larger profit, convincing more people to buy their stock, thus inflating their value, and fattening the purses of the countries top CEO's.
At the end of most of these peoples terms in office, what do you think they will do? Become lobbyists, take positions on boards at big companies, trade stock. So why bite the hand that feeds?

Education is your only hope and if you refuse to do this, then plan to work for someone else in the service industry. Stop blaming the politics of this country. If you were to do some research of the 1900's, you would see children working in sweatshops! WE have improved our lifestyles so much in the USA.

My own Daddy worked in a furniture factory to support a family of 9. He did piece work. His main job was standing at a machine and making legs for furniture all day long. He would come home so tired and his hands dry and cracking, bleeding. And his job was considered a good job. Is that what you are jealous of not having today? He eventually died of lung cancer.

Happily, with the technology we have today, man is not at risk for his health like he use to be. Children can get an education. And anyone who works and has a place to live enjoys the simple pleasures of inside plumbing, refrigerators, stoves, TV and more. In the 1930's and 1940's, ice was delivered to homes to put in ice boxes to keep food cool. Often a man had to climb four or more flight of stairs with a huge chunk of ice on his back to earn a living.

Stop complaining and get in an attitude of gratitude. You don't know what it is to work hard!

The government is protecting the interests of corporate America, not all Americans. They dont care about Joe Average, or your job. It costs companies too much money to pay wages, insurance, vacation, sick time, whatever. It's cheaper for them to go to a country where they dont have to worry about workers comp because there is no OSHA, no unions to worry about, social security and whatever. They can make cheap plastic crap in some country for 25 cents and sell it at a huge profit at Wal-Mart or some other chain. They only keep some jobs here to shut everyone up. The cost of EVERYTHING has gone up, my paycheck hasnt. Pretty soon we'll be a Third World country and then things will change because corportate American wont have anyone to buy their cheap plastic crap anymore.

Government which is supported by big corporations believe in outsources to increase their profits, tap into the more educated job applicants. They want everybody to think that this would help create more jobs.
But as you can see, there are no jobs. Tech and manufacturing jobs are outsourced more and more. Only jobs are in hostpitals or other service related. But without jobs, people can't go to hostpitals or require services.
What do we have?, War machines, we do not need a military draft, only jobs will be in the military. Does this sound like Germany world war 2?.

Outsourcing isn't destroying American jobs. Outsourcing creates jobs in the U.S. it destroys one and usually creates higher paying jobs domestically. U.S. jobs are destroyed by illegal immigration. If a company sends a tire plant to Mexico, they are able to compete and offer the tire to U.S. citizens cheaper, ergo, the dollar you do have just went further. Not saying ever outsourced job is beneficial, but seriously, who wants to work in a call center. People take jobs like that because they don't want to look for a decent job. Outsourcing is beneficial because it forces Americans to seek more training and education to find higher paying available jobs managing the outsourced companies. That is the American way. Own everything and make the rest of the world our servants. He he .... ummm. Smile.

It's because we have a global economy...at least that's the frame. It's really because the multi-national companies have got the trade policies they wanted thru Congress. If you remember during the '92 presidential debates, Ross Perot said if NAFTA passed you'd hear a giant sucking sound as jobs were sucked to Mexico. Well he was right! We are supposedly at war but if push came to shove, we don't have enough manufacturing capability in this country to fight a long war. Most of our steel comes from over seas. Most of our electronics comes from overseas. The border Patrol uniforms are made in Mexico. Isn't that a riot! We need to go back to the tariff system, it worked for 200 years. And if Bush has showed us anything, he showed us we can walk away from treaties.

Here is a question I asked about the same time you did; but from another perspective;

You might note that some American company's must outsource to stay in business. If they try to protect the outsourced job they will simply be replaced in the market with a cheaper product by another business (probably from another country).

And despite this phenomena in the new global economy our country (US) is enjoying consistently high growth rates. It would seem those "displaced" are learning other trades (more advanced) and moving up.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves. We are supposedly fighting for freedoms in Iraq when no one is fighting for Americans. It is apparently more important that large corporations rake in as much money as possible so they go to other countries where they can get cheap labor and not have to pay for things such as health benefits and pension plans...well they would just raid the pension plans later anyway. In the meantime, as in my case, the people who have lost their jobs to the outsourcing are forced to sell their homes or more often they are foreclosed on. When this happened as a result of Dell outsourcing, my neighborhood which is high dollar, has lost tens of thousands of dollars in value. The fallout from outsourcing is far reaching and there is no end in sight.
