I have a Dell Latitude Laptop C840. The desktop is small and centered in the middle of the screen. I have tried adjusting the monitor settings in the control panel, I have tried to find the correct driver download from Dell.com. I have changed several settings with no success.

I need some serious help here. Changing the settings in control panel does me no good.

Thanks!

On your keyboard, there should be some keys marked with blue lettering. You need to push the FN (Function Key) and the Key marked with LCD on it. This will switch the video mode. You might also try checking the BIOS Setup, there may be an option that also allows you the switch the video mode.

you would possibly want to be below assure, I had a similar problem, it became a nasty video card socket, the video card in maximum dells is below the keyboard, placed some pressure and be conscious if it makes a distinction.

Try booting into safe mode, go into the device manager and uninstall the video drive (I'm assuming that your using windows xp). Reboot and the drive will reinstall itself and it will require another reboot. If that doesnt work, try a system restore.
