"I would ask them if they knew it was illegal to do such? If they didn't then Id let it go but if they knew and didn't give a darn then I guess it would be proper to call the police. " Huh? Time to brush up on your law there.
"Wjhat would you do if you saw someone burn a flag?" I'd be interested in what reasons they had for taking such a flagrant step that they know will anger more people than convert them. .

Hey, Bill B, Every U.S. State has a flag. so does that mean that the States will battle each other? Or that troops can carry their State flag into battle?
Anyway, I don't understand how burning a flag is freedom of speech. That is an action, not any form of communication.
Cindy, above, has the right answer.
I guess it is OK to burn a Mexican flag. So maybe next week, I will have a protest rally against illegal immigration, and burn some Mexican flags in protest.
Now, that IS free speech. Saying I will burn a Mexican Flag. Burning a Mexican flag is not speech, but, an action.

Give them their merit badge, if I were a scout leader. Otherwise, I would do nothing. Burning a flag is the proper, accepted way of disposing of them. The American Legion does it, the Boy Scouts do it, and it's simply the way things work. The fact that Congress wasted all this time and effort debating whether or not flags should be burned proved their ignorance on proper care for the flag, first amendment rights, and showed that they do not care to address real problems Americans are facing.
In my opinion, everyone who voted "Yes" on that bill should be impeached. They don't even know as much about running this country as a 5 year old Cub Scout would.

Absolutely nothing. I may not agree with it but I respect their right, as a citizen of the United States, to express themselves and their views by burning the flag.

I would make sure they had a fire extinguisher in case it got out of hand. Really the US is not represented by a flag, flags are used by armies and navies to show conquest of territories. It shows that something is the property of the us govt.

How the hell is burning a flag "free speech"?
Is playing a boom box in a movie theater free speech?
How about in a hospital? Is talking loud in a hospital free speech?
What about a racist group yelling hate messages at a public park? Is that free speech?
What about inciting a riot? Is that free speech?
Then HOW IN THE HELL IS BURNING A FLAG FREE SPEECH?

Nothing. It's a protected Constitutional right, per a Supreme Court ruling.
