Well, I understand its a painful and a complicated situation for you. On one hand when she is nice to you, you cannot imagine she can be talking about you behind your back. I know it from my experience, where one of my online friends was being nice to me and talking ugly things behind my back to a person, who was my friend but whom she did not even know. Its really painful and could not get it out of my head for almost a week. But the thing is we have to get over it. Now the question is how?
First thing, is to analyse the kind of relation with your friend. Is she really close to you that you cannot go away thinking about her? If she is really really close as a friend and intimate with you, you should confront her. And it should not be a harsh confrontation, it should be a subtle one. Because close friendships are brittle, since we take the other person for granted. So, be very nice at the same time firm when you talk to her.
If she is more of a acquaintance than a friend, minimise your talking to her. Because, there would always be negative people, who are trying to pull you down. If you are too close to them, they would try to do all the more. So, try to avoid such personalities, it would affect you ultimately.
Also, try to divert your mind to other activities or meeting other nicer people, people who are positive and dun worry much what people are saying behind your back. When you give it attention, they do it all the more. So, ignore them and they would stop on its own. You dun even have to give justifications to anyone, because if you do, it indicates you are weak and vulnerable, which you are not.
Best of luck, and may you resolve the issue before it affects you any further. God Bless u.

Well it depends on what was said...friends should be allowed to vent to others if need be but should not say anything that would hurt you in anyway. We all have said stupid things here and there but a true friend would never intentionally hurt you. If you care about her enough then approach her and ask her why she is doing this and you can then decide by her reaction if she is worth staying friends with.Good luck

step 1: Confront her about it, talk it out
Step 2: give her another chance
Step 3: If it happens again its un nessecary drama for u and she probably wasnt your real friend in the first place.

I think that you should confront her and see what she says...I think you need to say it in a ferm but not offencive or mean tone..if she is really your friend she shouldn't lie to about things that are said

Find a new friend and do not tell her any of your intimate business. She's two faced.
