Classical music, as one answerer noted, is suppose to enhance your learning abilities. I would try reading for a certain period of time, say a half hour, take a break, and then go back. I would make the place I am studying less distracting, no loud music, be in a quiet place. I have also taped notes to a small recorder and put them under my pillow when I was sleeping. I have not gotten less than an "A" in any class I have taken and I think part of it is due to listening while I slept.

It may be just that the book is not interesting to you. That's the first thing I would assume. Also, you could try making everything quiet and calm around you so that you don't get distracted from your reading. Trying to clear your mind before you start reading should help you to concentrate better, too.

No wonder your mind wanders! I can't believe you haven't died of boredom from all the techy stuff!!! Just read a paragraph at a time. Once you are done with that one, get up, walk around the room, then sit down and read another paragraph. I hope it helps.

Find a dream and use that dream to focus on concentrating.
