Victory boots are good.
The bottom line is buy the boot that looks and feels right to you. Try them on - variations in lining styles, stitching, and cut can made a large difference in the feel of a boot.
If the location/nationality of the manufacturer is an issue - ask the dealer before you buy the pair you like. It would be more effective anyway, if you were to refuse to buy the perfect pair of boots because they were made in Canada or something ... that'd tell the seller that they had better stock American if they want your business.

Here is an idea for you, go to a local police shop, one that sells police boots. I've had a pair that are lace but are also zip up, they have lasted since 1999 and if I were home I could tell you the brand, but by now I'm sure they have improved models. All my friends have followed the trend, most people ask me where I got them since they don't look like everyone elses. Check it out, they'll probably be cheaper too since most motorcycle dealerships mark up products for huge profit. Good luck!

There is a brand that is carried by most Western Wear stores named Ariat. They're American made, lace up above the ankle for great support, have non-skid soles, and are more stylish than straight slip ons.
