Where can I get more financial help only making $688/month on SS Disability & SSI Please? I can't pay my taxes
Hi! I am disabled and only make $688 per month on SS Disability and SSI combined with a small amount of food stamps. I cannot work any longer. My home is mortage free and my taxes cut in 1/2 because of the disability which is a blessing from God, however I owe $3000 in back taxes and they soon will go to the county and to the company called EXPAND who is the collections agency for the county of ERIE in Buffalo, NY and they will forclose on the home and auction it off. They do not care if you owe $30 or
3 million...you must pay it in full. No partial payments can be made.
If I sell the home I would have "some" money but not enough to live on for more than about 18 months max. Then I would be homeless. I have no where else to go. I have to keep the home but have no way of paying these back taxes. Does ANYONE know of ANY other assistance that is out there for disabled people in the form of cash benefits for such instances? Once you are on SSSD you cannot collect public asst. Help!

Maybe you can do it the old fasioned way: go door to door, and ask people to give you money.

If that doesn't work, write letters to rich multi-millionaire Democrats like John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, Chuck Schumer, Michael Moore, and Hillary Clinton. They're always telling us the poor deserve more, well, here's their chance to step up and lead by example.

I would talk to the IRS and tell then you can't pay. I think they will set you up on a payment plan.

I'm also pretty sure that they can not take your house even if you file bankrupcy, it's against federal law.

Since you only need $3000, I bet you can take out a loan against your house easy enough.

Also, think about who you want to owe money to the least. Some loan agency or the IRS? If you have ok credit, then I can almost guarentee someone will loan you $3000. If I were you, I would go straight to the bank and request a loan.

have you considered a line of credit on your home ? if youve had your home for a while or have decent money into it there are places that could approve you for a small loan on your home like a emergency line home credit that a lot of banks approve right over the phone . and with small monthy payments it would be easier for you to pay back over time . that way you can pay your taxes put a few $$$ in your pocket and take care of that tax bill . hope it helps :)

If you are below poverty level, you don't have
to pay any taxes. Join a good church because
church people are always helping out their members.
Get some kind of work-from-your-home job until you
get your debts paid off. Don't you have any family
you can turn to in desperate times like this?
