I had an abnormal pap at the same time I found out I was pregnant. It was an intraepithelial squamous cell lesion. It's caused by HPV, and it's been known to cause cervical cancer. I've had my son, the doctors said there's a good chance that my cervix dialating during labor destroyed it, but i haven't gotten the last pap results back yet. Is there anyone that has gone through this or that has any knowlege about it? What's the likelihood it's gone?

HPV destroyed by cervix dialating? I checked that out and am giving you the CDC link. It has the best information and I was surprised by what I found out. Please click the link so you have the facts.

labor does not cure or destroy the hpv...you need to get a new doctor... it will never be gone the rest of your life. There is no "cure" for HPV infection, although in most women the infection goes away on its own. The treatments provided are directed to the changes in the skin or mucous membrane caused by HPV infection, such as warts and pre-cancerous changes in the cervix
