She has a HORRIBLE and annoying voice.... she doesn't even sing, she sounds like an eel and dances and sings the SAME way in every video. Why is she so popular??

It's more or less her dancing style. Yes it may be the same thing in every video but can you move your hips and body like that? Probably not, it seems to me that most people who don't like her feel threatened by what she can do and they can't. And she has a unique voice, so what if it isn't what you prefer. It's still unique and the fact that pretty much any one can throw out a CD now a days it doesn't really matter now does it?

First of all, she CAN sing. She sings in a Mediterranean/Indian style. I'd like to see you try it...
Second of all, she's been popular in the rest of the world for about 10 years. America has just been slow to catch on. I've loved her since her first American release in 2000.
She has a propensity for deep expression (which you'd know if you listened so something other than what's on the radio), as well as the ability to put out song after song that just makes your belly and your @$$ go crazy!
We also love the way she dances, and love to imitate it. lol. I've always loved music with international flavor, especially anything that requires hip and a$$ shaking. ; )
So, Mr Pink Panther...
That is why people like her.

First of all, look at celebrities right now. A lot of them have really bad voices yet are still famous. Take Ashlee Simpson for example. I do admit that her singing in English is not so great. She should stick to the Spanish stuff. I really liked it. Especially the older stuff.
And the dancing... all the girls wish they could dance like that. And all the guys want girls who can dance like that.

I guess singing voices have different effects on different people. I think she has an amazing voice and her earlier work is fantastic. Check out "Unplugged." It's in Spanish but the passion is universal.

It's BECAUSE she dances the same way all the time. Guys like that and women want to be able to do that. sure her voice is weird, but you don't have to be musically talented to be a star, just ask Ashlee Simpson.

Boys like her of course. They feel that her voice is attractive and sexy like her body. The way she belly dances and moves makes them go nuts. It's like her body just moves however she feels. I don't like her voice either, but the hit people that are in her songs make me like them ya know? It's weird, but true. Like her song "Hips Don't Lie." I didn't like it at first, but when people talk, I start to enjoy a song that I used to thought sucked. So that's why I like that manly voiced Sakira and why others do too.

I personally think that she sounds like a goat when she sings. However, she can do things with her hips that most other people can't do...or won't do in front of the world. She is confident with herself and isn't afraid to sound horrible(unless she actually thinks that she sounds good). Plus, there's the fact that most men think she is the hottest woman alive. I dunno, maybe she just got really damn lucky...

That face, those hips, those moves, a very unique voice. Actually her voice is similar to Jennifer Knaap (Christian singer) and Allanis Morrisette kind of.
