Yes - the oil companies are gouging - look at the record profits
The best way to deal with it is by switching to other fuels and reducing our use
Price is all supply and demand - If the demand is reduced the price will drop
I changed my habits to drop half my mileage driven in a week and am still getting everything done - just fewer trips
all of us together would make a major difference

Yes, especially since my truck gets 8 miles to the gallon. The prices are high because of speculation. All the liberals keep saying were fighting a war for oil which is completely false were fighting a war for freedom, thats another story though. Anyway, because the libs keep spreading lies about us trying to get oil and how that will make the prices reach $10.00 a gallon, the oil companies are steadily rising the price in case it goes that high. Oil shouldn't even cost $50.00 a barrel the rest is just profit. How can we solve this problem. We can have libs stop spreading lies about our war so that everyone isn't paranoid about gas and the prices will stop going up.

I think the problem is that the cost of refueling jets, tanks, and SUV's to fight a pointless war that the majority of the population disagrees with causes the price of gas at the gas pumps to skyrocket. More gas is diverted to the war effort, leaving America with less gas than usual, which drives the price of the gas up.

Without question our congress is turning their head and getting paid by the energy industry. All while the American citizens are paying out their nose. I strongly suggest that we stage a BIG PROTEST in Washington!
The reason we pay a lot less than other European countries is because in American we have a higher volume of consumption. Translate we pay less because we buy a higher bulk! Please Linnea S the next time you decide to make a comment, make sure you are not comparing apples to oranges.

yes we are seriously over charged. -Here tax on a single gallon of gas that is added is 56 cents per gallon.in our state alone-dont know about other states. They say it is for road repair. Thats why W.V. roads are so holey you need a 4 X 4 when you leave the interstate that runs through !!

Well, we're paying a lot less than most of the European countries. If anything, taxes should be significantly reduced if not altogether done away with. But that philosophy encompases a lot more than just cheap gas prices :) www.lp.org

when oil companies report an INCREASED profit! of course we are being ripped off. I think the solution is to prosecute oil companies for profiteering, one indictment handed down and I believe oil prices would sink back to reasonable.

the gas prices have nothing to do with Bush. its the oil companies themselves. we dont call our economy "free enterprise" for nothing. the oil companies can charge however much they want. if you want to get cheaper gas, i suggest you boycott gas and take the bus to work.
