No, but I wish Jessie Jackson would.

No, I think Bill Cosby has great things to say. I know I'm not black, so I can't fully understand exactly what life is like for you all, and I don't pretend that I do.. (well, not often anyway.. I forget sometimes.) But I think what he has to say is a pretty universal concept. Don't just resign yourself to what you've been given. Set your sights higher and work for it. If you really want something and put the effort in, you'll get it.
It reminds a lot of how people point fingers at video games and TV and entertainment and advertising for all the kids who spend all day on the couch stuffing their faces or go out and shoot their classmates, and, granted, those things share some of the blame, but no one ever blames the parents for not really *raising* their kids, and teaching them proper ways to behave and disciplining them. Sorry, that was kind of a tangent, but it's the same kinda thing.
You can't control what happens to you in life, but you have absolute control over how you deal with it, and that will ultimately make all the difference.

Bill Cosby should speak and speak because he speaks only the truth. Surely you know that he faced alot of prejudice as a black man in the early entertainment business. And still, he managed to succeed and even found time to EARN a doctorate degree.
No one can deny success and RESPECT to ANY man who lives the decent, right way which never promotes violence and negativity like blacks calling each other the "N" word.
Bill Cosby represents UNIVERSAL family values and charity. He provides hundreds of full scholarships to academically-gifted black students. (He was my friend's benefactor at Columbia Business School.)
He is a wealthy man who could live the good life quietly, but he cares much about the global community, and he choses to stand up and speak out about the things that are dividing/destroying the community. He is a good man.

And you are older than him and can share an infinite amount more wisdom?
What you probably don't realize is that back in the 80's tv-land was a much different place than it is now. He is frustrated at the decline our society has taken in just the last 20 years. Much in part due to kids like yourself (I don't know that you are a kid so to speak, but I bet you are not older than 18 or 20).
The only tv I watch any more is the news, AFV, and Numbers...there is probably a few other decent shows on...but mostly I would have to say it is trash. Which kind of reflects the audience, doesn't it? That is why Cosby is going on about hip hop, the black culture..etc.

Leave Bill Cosby alone. He speaks the truth. I'm black and I'm not mad at him. We need more black leaders like Bill Cosby. Why would you be upset with him? He is telling us what we need to do and it is awful that someone has to tell you what you need to do to better yourself. That should be common knowledge. Bill should continue to do just what he is doing maybe one day you and others will listen.

Not exactly sure what he did to make you ask this???
To the one who said Cosby has guts to point out things, just an aside, not in reference to Cosby as I don't know why the person asked this particular question, but regarding ANYONE, it is ALWAYS easy to point out what you think people do wrong and many do so, however, people need to look within themselves FIRST to see what they can do to make the world better before pointing out what the world is doing wrong. IMHO

No, Cosby is right on regarding most of the things he says. He's actually willing to take people to task and point out the problems with the way that they are living their lives. Not many people have the guts to do that.

I love what Bill Cosby is saying. And it is about time somebody in the black community stood up and said what needs to be said. It has to come from a well respected black leader, otherwise it would be called racist so it could be ignored.
What specificly did he say you disagree with. Nobody likes to be told they are wrong and the truth stings sometimes.

I don't know what he has said recently. I read his book "Fatherhood" about a decade ago and enjoyed it.
I presume he has the right to express his opinions, whatever they are. Thats what this free speech thing is all about.
I will now go use a search engine and see what he has been saying recently. Since I am an old guy like him, I may well agree with him.
