Of course you're not stupid, whoever told you that you are is an idiot. :) It's easy to mistake lust for love, it's difficult to know what love really is until you experience it, but if you've never experienced it, how are you going to know what it is? I hope that makes sense, it's a bit late and I'm sleepy. I wish you good luck in your relationships and I hope you truly find your soul mate, give it time and I'm sure you will. :)

the good thing is, you can establish the two and just don't put them together as one unit. some people think one dosen't come with out the other. does this person feel the same way you do? if you do not know ask. if you are still doubtful, it's not love until you're ready to admit you could love this person even if they couldn't have sex with you~ even if you didn't lust after them, would you still want them.

I don't think you are stupid but you didn't take your time to see what you really like about the other person.Lust has to do with something you like about a person and you want to have a feel of it while when you are in love, you don't see anything but just the person as he or she is,you appreciate the person for who he or she is not what he or she has to offer you

You are human especially if you are young. We have all done it. It's learning to know the difference and that takes experience and if you never make a mistake you never learn. You are not stupid.
