I am looking for 2 plane tickets to scotland, anytime would be good. Doesn't matter where in scotland either. I have got some quotes and I have been told about 1500 per person, just for the plane ticket. We live in wisconsin, and the farthest we could go to get on a plane would be the chicago IL.

Consider using cheap carriers to travel between hubs. For example, in the US you could use Southwest to travel to Philadelphia, which is usually the second cheapest city to fly out of. Then find the cheapest flight to London, and from there use a discount carrier (easyJet or Ryan Air) to get to Scotland. You will probably need to switch airports in London to use one of these carriers, but you can get great deals!

To minimize plane and carrier changes, both British Airways and Aer Lingus fly out of Chicago (and with Aer Lingus you'll have better luck finding Ryan Air flights into Scotland).

As for getting to London, mid to late summer is the most expensive time to visit, so wait! There are a bunch of websites out there that will keep you up to date on travel deals (like travelocity, orbitz, and Sherman's). Check British Airways and Virgin Atlantic for specials (either regularly check their websites or get on their mailing list). Even though they're "name brand" airlines you can often find deals at least as good as on a discount line, except that you know you'll get good service!

Good luck!

Go to the Internet and look for special deals...there are so many sites to check out- Travelocity, HotWire, Travelzoo, travel brokers, etc. You should also purchase trip insurance in case you can't go on the dates you selected for whatever reason.
Just search for discount ticket to Scotland on Yahoo or Google it.
