Get some temporary ones and put them places you are thinking of the real thing, that way you can live with the idea of its placement for a few days.

No! I have a tattoo on my ankle. It is very cute and doesn't look trashy! A lot of people are getting tattoos on the ankles and shoulders!
Also if you plan to have any more kids and have a lower back tattoo, the doctors will refuse to do an epideral, due the fact that the ink could mess something up.

I wouldn't ask my sons opinion, after all,you aren't out to impress him or his friends,are you? Do what YOU like.As for these people saying they think it's tacky for moms to have tats,etc.-you guys probably think it's gross your parents have sex too,but you better be glad they did, huh? I will warn you though -the spine HURTS! So does all the really bony parts like ankles. May I suggest putting it where only those your really CLOSE to will see it? ;-) I have mine on the upper arm , going up over the shoulder (it can't be seen when I wear a short sleeved shirt) but it hurt on the shoulder blade. I also have one in a more "personal " spot. LOL
Just be sure it's really what you want, they Are permanent. The scarring from removal makes that an option I would not consider. I love mine!

It won't look trashy, but thats an overly popular place to get it. What is with all you people who think tattoos are trashy??? I think they're great, guess I must be trash. Hmm, that kinda sucks.....How old are most of the peopel giving answers? LOL about the epidural, where do you get your info, I'll admit I have a tattoo on my back, and htey h ad to stick the needle right into my tattoo, they must have forgot to mention the risks there......

Tattoos look trashy anywhere. But if you've gotta have one, stick to something small on your ankle or shoulder.

Ankle, shoulder, or small of the back. All are easily concealed by clothing and not too trashy,,, stay away from the arms, breasts, neck.

No he is not right. many women have tattoos there, and they are not trashy at all. have you thought this through about where you want it to go? maybe there is a different place where your tattoo will look good and your son will be happy too! hope this helped!

A tatoo should mean something, because you will live with it the rest of your life. Ten years ago, any tatoo meant you were "edgy"! I was about to make military references and biker jokes, but I won't!
Whatever the case, Your body is yours! If you want to make a permanant statement about yourself, DO IT! Your son will probably tell your grandkids how grammy was always a free spirit, not grammy is trashy!

I think your son is right...a tad trashy. I would go with the ankle, if you get a tattoo thats the cutest place to put it in my opinion!

If you are afraid a tatoo will make you look trashy, maybe you are not ready to make that life long committment. However; depending on your profession lower ankle and foot tatoos do cover amazingly well... yet look very cute in summer sandles.
